I absolutely love this place! The food is so flavorful. The homemade enchilada sauce is great. I always have a margarita here and it is mixed perfectly. But the best part is the warm tortilla chips and salsa.

Customer service was friendly, prices agreeable, and the salsa was quite authentic! I grew up in Texas and hardly ever find salsa I like in this part of the country. This salsa had kick and fresh ingredients which means it passed my first level of judgement for all Mexican restaurants. The two dishes we ordered included fajita steak and fajita chicken - both were tasty.

Good Mexican sit down restaurant. So far the best I've had in the Sioux Falls area since we've moved here. Service was fast. Food was hot and very large portions served. Reasonably priced! Will be returning.

Server was friendly and accommodating! Salsa was very watery, i was not a big fan...but they made up for it with their guacamole. I ordered the lunch fajitas, the portion and price was great! Didn't really care for their seasoning on the chicken but overall i was happy and full after my lunch from there!

Great food and service always! The staff is friendly and are flexible about asking for adjustments to the order (my boyfriend gets Diablo sauce on everything). Love the chimis and enchiladas!

Only reason it's four stars is they didn't have pork chili for the burrito. Very good food other then that not Americanized Mexican food

I like this place, I have eaten there several times and always gone away full. The chips and salsa are always good too. I noticed the comment that it was expensive, have you eaten at Taco Johns in last couple of years?

Wow. This is the best Mexican restaurant that I have been in since I left California. Servings are huge and fantastic. Family owned and they know how to cook. Service is fantastic with smiling helpful staff Most items are around $10.95. Jumbo margaritas are $6.

I have ate at this Restaurant twice now. The first time it was pretty good. The second time it was just ok. My first trip I had the carne asada and it was good as were the chips and salsa. The second time I had steak fajitas. They were just ok. I only got three small flour tortillas on the side and that was not enough. Our chips were not good the second time. they were almost a burnt color and tasted burnt. My Girlfriend said that her strawberry daiquiri tasted like it had no alcohol in it. The waiter we had acted as if it might of been his first night. He was shy and very soft spoken and not sure what he was saying. after we got our food, he never refilled our drinks or checked on us to see how we were doing.

Ate here while my family was in town for the weekend. Their chips and salsa were AMAZING!! But I'd have to say I've had better Mexican food. Still not my top spot. It is very inexpensive and overall tasted good. I would recommend this restaurant.

It's okay. The staff is very friendly so that is a definite plus. The chips and salsa are okay but nothing great. The food is hit or miss. Sometimes it's really good and sometimes it's not--skip the nachos, yuck. I'll go again but I'll try somewhere else first.

I love Puerto Vallarta. I have a good friend from San Diego that says it's the best Mexican food in Sioux Falls and I completely agree. It is a locally owned family restaurant. Mexican food made by Mexicans who can really cook. The salsa and chips are great, the food comes very quickly and it's all priced very well. Great for a casual date or even a quick business lunch Puerto Vallarta has great foods. Check out their combo menu, it's very long, and you'll win. I haven't been there at least a dozen times and will undoubtedly be there very soon.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
